2014 Hong Kong – “Graffiti”

Delay No More? 唉…

Sai Kung is a small town on Sai Kung Peninsula, New Territories, Hong Kong. It was a fishing harbor and underwent significant development in the 1970s to become a nice town famous for their fresh seafood and a weekend excursions center for hard working families. We visited Sai Kung in November 2014, I came across this mural, it looks like graffiti, but obviously it is not. I believe it is a well designed billboard. Puzzled, I googled for answer, and I have found it. What says on the wall, Delay No More, is a brand name of a local  company. Moreover,  “Delay no more” comes from Cantonese foul words with similar sounds (Diu lay lo mo), which means “fuck your mother” (urbandictionary.com). Can you believe it? They use Cantonese profanity and turned it into an English brand name… I love the “graffiti” but not the profanity, lol.

    哈哈 ~ Delay No More !
