阿拉斯加郵輪之旅(二) – 餐飲

在郵輪上,  除了特式餐廳要付附加費和訂位外, 基本餐飲是全包的(酒和汽水不包)。此船上的主餐廳是两層的芳庭餐廳 (La Fontaine Restaurant), 下層没有固定位置, 亦即是客人按到達次序就坐, 滿了的話就要等侯, 上層晚餐是有固定位置的, 分两梯次, 六點和八點, 配合劇院的表演節目, 八點和十點, 我們是第二梯次, 吃完飯, 信步走至劇院看表演。早、午餐我們都會到泳池層的自助餐廳(Lido Restaurant) 去吃, 取其多樣和弹性時間。

Alaska Cruise  (2) – Food on board ms Amsterdam

As you can imagine, there are a range of food options available on board ms Amsterdam. A few main dining rooms and a number of themed restaurants which require advanced booking and a nominal fee.

Before the sail, we did not make any reservations,  however, we were assigned a table at second seating (8pm, first seating was 6pm) in La Fontaine Restaurant, that this arrangement turned out to be working well for us. The following photos show some dishes we had.

晚餐: 芳庭La Fontaine 餐廳

DINNER:  La Fontaine Dining Room, Deck 4 & Deck 5. Lower La Fontaine Dining Room is an open-sitting restaurant while tables on upper La Fontaine are assigned. We had our dinner there every evening except the last one because we were strolling through Fisherman’s Wharf in Victoria, BC.

我没有習慣拍食物的照片, 吃完第一頓飯, 朋友覺得應該拍一點作紀錄, 下面是我們點過的一些菜式。

I don’t normally take pictures of food, however, during our first dinner, someone in our party expressed that it would be nice to take a few pictures of some dishes, so I began to take some photos of dishes we ate.

上層 芳庭主餐廳 Upper La Fontaine Restaurant

I believe this photo was taken on our first dinner, the dress code that night was casual. As you can see, La Fontaine Restaurant provides good views.

早午餐: 我們都去泳池層的自助餐廳, 自助式, 雖然没有晚餐的精緻, 但多式多樣, 幾乎全天開放。我們有两次看完表演上去宵夜, 人還不少呢。

For breakfast and lunch, we ate in the Lido Restaurant most of the time for its flexibility. The food served there were not as good as those in the La Fontaine Restaurant, but it has a lot of varieties to choose from. The Lido Restaurant was always buzzing, a couple of times we went up for midnight snack after the shows, we had a lot of company.

_JSF1629下午茶 – 有一天是特別印尼式下午茶, 英式紅茶配印尼點心。茶還可以, 不過點心乾乾的, 好像放了很久似的。

I have to confess that the Indonesian high tea was a bit disappointed, the English tea was OK, but the Indonesian goodies were not very good, appeared to have been prepared a century ago.

P1080754第三天, 前往翠斯峽灣(Tracy Arm) 看冰川, 在船頭甲板上, 厨房很貼心, 準備了熱的荷蘭傳統豆湯, Erwtensoep, 給客人驅寒; 還有專人供應加酒的巧克力奶。

On Day 3, we were cruising to Tracy Arm, kitchen served traditional Dutch pea soup, Erwtensoep, on the bow as we approaching the glacier.

_JSF2327-1After a day on the sea, folks aggregated on the bow, eager to check out what Tracy Arm has to offer. I was down there but later moved up to the observation deck under the bridge where I can see better without obstruction.  The only drawback was that they only served the traditional Dutch pea soup, Erwtensoep, down on the bow. They also served hot chocolate with a shot of alcohol in a souvenir cup, with a price, down there.

其他餐廳 – 船上有其他主題餐廳, 要預約和象徵式收費, 我們都”安於現狀”, 没有去試。

Other restaurants : There are a bunch of different smaller restaurants which required advanced booking, and most of them also required a fee. Some of these are nice restaurants, however, we preferred our assigned table at night, and Lido Restaurant for flexibility particularly when we had excursions.
